I hope you’re having a great day. It’s been another busy week as we continue our journey across the electorate; we’ve just clocked 13,000kms so far! This week took us from the Flinders Ranges to the Spencer Gulf, visiting Quorn, Hawker, Whyalla, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, and a few more meetings back on the Yorke Peninsula; finishing at the footy in Bute.
We’re doing our best to meet everyone in the Grey Electoral College. We want to understand your concerns and hear what you’d like to see from your next Liberal candidate.

On Thursday we had a fantastic event in Arthurton focused on agriculture and regional issues, and we were lucky enough to be joined by Hon. David Speirs MP, Hon. Nicola Centofanti MLC, Sam Telfer MP and Hon. Terry Stephens MLC.
It was an excellent turnout and a big thank you to farmers Michael, Mark, Bevan and others for organising the event and supplying the food.
Key Takeaways:
- A strong focus on agriculture – mining on agricultural land and related legislation continues to bring issues to farming communities
- Farmers are ill-prepared for the influx of climate accounting red tape and it will reduce the productivity of primary production. There is a consensus we must act now to avoid what has happened to the UK and European agricultural sectors
- Outdated COVID vaccine mandates are still in place and applied inconsistently
- Across the electorate, there are disproportionate increases in council rates for landowners
This week, I am in the Eyre Peninsula. While Bonnie can’t join me this time due to work commitments, I’m looking forward to meeting more of you there and continuing our important conversations about the future of Grey.

I’m looking forward to the coming week and the opportunity to connect with more of you across the Eyre Peninsula. If you have any thoughts or questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
